From a minor car park bump to a serious collision, Motorcare Body Repair carries out accident repairs for drivers across St Helens and the surrounding areas. We handle both insurance claims and private repairs, and we have been doing it for more than 30 years.

What we repair after an accident

  • Body panels — wings, doors, bonnets, boot lids, tailgates and quarter panels, repaired where possible and replaced where not.
  • Bumpers, grilles, lights and trim — see our dedicated bumper repairs page.
  • Structural damage — chassis and inner-panel repairs carried out to bring the car back to its correct shape and strength.
  • Suspension damage — wishbones, arms and mounting points that are often damaged in a side or front impact.
  • Paintwork — colour-matched and blended so the repair blends in, with a two-year guarantee.

How an accident repair works with us

  1. Get in touch. Call us, call in, or send us a few photos of the damage. We will give you a free, no-obligation estimate.
  2. Insurance or private? If you are claiming, we can deal directly with your insurance company and manage the claim for you. If you are paying yourself, you will have a clear written estimate before anything starts.
  3. Strip and assess. Once the damaged panels come off we check for hidden damage underneath. If anything changes the estimate, we tell you before carrying on.
  4. Repair and refinish. Panels are repaired or replaced, the structure is checked and corrected, and the paintwork is matched and blended.
  5. Check and return. Every car is inspected before it goes back to you, and all of our work is covered by our two-year guarantee.

Insurance or private repair?

Not every accident is worth claiming for. If the damage is minor, paying privately can work out cheaper than losing your no-claims bonus and paying an excess. We are happy to give you a private estimate so you can compare before you decide. If you do claim, our insurance repairs page explains how we manage the process with your insurer.

Accident Repairs: your questions answered

How long does an accident repair take?

It depends on how much damage there is and whether parts need ordering. Once we have seen the car we will give you a realistic timescale with your estimate, and we will keep you updated if anything changes once the panels come off.

Can you repair a car that has been in a serious collision?

Yes. We carry out panel replacement, structural repairs and suspension repairs as well as cosmetic work. We assess every car honestly first — if a repair would not be safe or economical, we will tell you.

Do I have to use the repairer my insurance company suggests?

In most cases you can choose who repairs your car. Some policies attach conditions to using a non-approved repairer, so check your policy wording or ask us — we deal with insurers every week and can talk you through it.

Will I be able to see where the repair was done?

Our aim is a repair you cannot see. Paint is colour-matched to your car and blended into the surrounding panels, and all of our work is covered by a two-year guarantee.

Do you work on all makes and models?

Yes — from small hatchbacks to large family cars and premium models. Send us a few photos and we will give you a free estimate.
